Our Sliding Door Services

Everything Your Sliding Door Needs

Sliding glass doors are one of the hardest-working glass elements in any home. They open to patios, decks, and backyards — and take daily punishment from Colorado's sun, wind, and temperature swings.

We handle the full range of sliding door work: replacing broken or foggy glass panels, installing brand-new door systems, upgrading to energy-efficient Low-E glass, and repairing hardware and tracks that make your door hard to slide.

  • Broken patio door glass replacement
  • Foggy / failed IG unit replacement in existing door frames
  • New sliding door system installation
  • Hardware, roller, and track repair
  • Upgrade to Low-E or tempered glass
  • Screen door repair and replacement

Door Configurations

Sliding Door Options

From simple two-panel patio doors to expansive multi-panel systems — we work with all configurations.

Most Common

2-Panel Bypass Door

The classic patio door — one fixed panel, one sliding panel. Available in 5', 6', and 8' widths. Perfect for standard patio and deck openings. Simple, reliable, and easy to operate.

Wide Opening

3-Panel Sliding Door

Two panels slide to one side to open up a full two-thirds of the door width. Great for wide openings where you want maximum access to a patio or outdoor living space.

Indoor Use

Interior Bypass Doors

Sliding glass panels used for room dividers, closet doors, or interior accent walls. Custom glass types — frosted, clear, patterned — to match your interior design.

Glass Replacement

Broken Panel Replacement

Cracked or shattered patio door glass replaced with new tempered safety glass cut to your door's exact size. Usually completed same-day or next-day.

Efficiency Upgrade

IG Unit Upgrade

If your patio door glass is fogging up or letting in drafts, we replace the insulated glass unit inside the existing frame — a fraction of the cost of a new door.

Hardware

Track & Roller Repair

Hard-to-slide door? Worn rollers, bent tracks, and failed locks can all be repaired without replacing the entire door system. We'll diagnose the issue and fix what's needed.

Glass Options

Energy-Efficient Glass for Denver's Climate

Colorado's extreme temperature range — from -20°F winters to 100°F summers — makes your sliding door's glass choice critical for comfort and energy bills.

🪟

Tempered Clear Glass

Safety-rated for all patio door applications. 4–5× stronger than standard glass, shatters safely. Required by code for all exterior sliding doors.

🌡️

Low-E Coated Glass

A microscopically thin metallic coating reflects heat in summer and retains it in winter. Dramatically improves your door's energy performance without reducing clarity.

💨

Argon-Filled IG Units

Argon gas between the panes provides superior thermal insulation compared to air — reducing heat transfer through the glass panel significantly.

🌫️

Frosted / Obscure

For interior bypass doors or privacy situations — frosted glass lets in light while blocking the view. Available in many textures and opacity levels.

🔒

Laminated Safety Glass

Two glass layers bonded with a plastic interlayer — if broken, it holds together in one piece. Provides extra security and noise reduction for ground-floor patio doors.

☀️

Solar Control Glass

Reduces solar heat gain without darkening your view. Ideal for south- and west-facing doors that receive intense afternoon sun in Colorado summers.

Why It Matters

Energy Efficiency & Security

🏠

Your Largest Glass Surface

A sliding glass door is typically the largest single piece of glass in a home — making it the biggest opportunity for heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer.

❄️

Denver Winters Are Real

Old single-pane or failed-seal patio doors can feel like a wall of cold in winter. Upgraded Low-E double or triple-pane glass makes a dramatically noticeable difference.

🔐

Security Matters

Tempered glass and laminated options significantly increase the difficulty of forced entry. We can also address track security, secondary locks, and anti-lift pins.

How It Works

Fast, Clean Sliding Door Service

1

Assessment & Quote

We assess your door — glass condition, frame, hardware, and seals — and give you a written quote covering exactly what needs to be done.

2

Fabrication or Sourcing

Replacement glass is cut to your door's exact dimensions. For new door systems, we source from quality manufacturers and schedule delivery.

3

Professional Installation

Glass or door installation is completed cleanly and efficiently. We test operation, adjust rollers and track, and verify weathertight seals before we leave.

FAQs

Sliding Door Questions

  • Can you replace just the glass in my patio door without replacing the whole frame?

In most cases, yes. If the aluminum or vinyl frame is in good condition, we can remove the existing glass panel and replace it with new tempered glass (or a new insulated glass unit if it's double-pane). This is much more cost-effective than a full door replacement.

  • My sliding door is hard to open — is that a glass issue?

Usually not — a door that's hard to slide is almost always a hardware issue: worn or dirty rollers, a bent or debris-filled track, or an out-of-alignment frame. We can diagnose and repair all of these. It's a common issue and often a quick fix that dramatically improves daily operation.

  • Is all patio door glass tempered?

It should be — and any glass we install is. Building codes require tempered safety glass for all exterior sliding doors. Older homes may have non-tempered glass (you can tell by looking for the etched certification mark in a corner). If yours doesn't have it, upgrading is worth it for safety reasons alone.

  • How long does glass replacement take for a patio door?

For standard patio door sizes, we can often cut glass same-day and complete installation in 1–2 hours. For custom sizes or insulated glass units, allow 1–3 business days for fabrication. We'll give you a specific timeline during your estimate.

  • Do you work on all brands of sliding doors?

Yes. We work with glass and hardware from all major brands — Andersen, Pella, Milgard, Simonton, PGT, and builder-grade vinyl doors. Since we custom-cut the glass to your door's dimensions, the brand doesn't matter for glass replacement work.
